About Me
I'm Mr Murtz. I'm a qualified PGCE English teacher with QTS, working full-time at a top London academy. I started the GCSE Tutoring Club because great teaching shouldn't only happen in school.

Live Lessons, Every Week
Live sessions every week, all online, all recorded. English on Wednesdays for everyone. Champion members add one Maths class: Higher on Thursdays or Foundation on Fridays. Elite Champion members can join both. Sign up any time and your child joins the next session on their plan.

AQA English Language
6 – 8pm • 2 hours
Exam-focused English for everyone in the club. Each session targets a specific Paper 1 or Paper 2 question, building exam technique week by week.
Thursday
GCSE Higher Maths
6 – 8pm • 2 hours
For Champion and Elite Champion students sitting Higher. Run by an experienced maths tutor, working through the toughest exam topics and grade 7–9 questions.
Friday
GCSE Foundation Maths
6 – 8pm • 2 hours
For Champion and Elite Champion students sitting Foundation. Run by an experienced maths tutor, building the core topics needed to secure a grade 4–5.

Yes. Both tutors are DBS checked. The Discord is invite-only, so only club members can join, and only the two tutors are admins. Gaming channels are only open with parental permission. Students never need their camera on in lessons.
Yes, any time. Sessions run every week and each one is self-contained, so there's nothing to catch up on before your child's first lesson. They also get instant access to 60+ hours of recordings to fill any gaps. The only limit is space: groups are capped at around 30 students and I close sign-ups once a group is full.
Diamond (£100/month): 2 hours of live AQA English every Wednesday, plus everything else in the club (60+ hours of recordings, weekly feedback, free revision guides, Discord). Champion (£150/month): everything in Diamond, plus one 2-hour live Maths class every week with an experienced maths tutor: Higher on Thursdays or Foundation on Fridays. Our recommended plan if your child needs both subjects. The English Language sessions are AQA-focused, covering Papers 1 and 2 question by question. The skills and techniques taught are highly transferable to other exam boards like Edexcel and OCR, and many of our students sit different boards and still see significant improvement. If you'd prefer fully bespoke 1-to-1 tuition on a different board, drop me a line.
Groups are capped at around 30 students to maintain quality, interaction, and a real classroom feel. This isn't a massive lecture. It's designed so every student can participate, ask questions, and get individual feedback on their work.
